photo safari: Big Dipper  



Big Dipper over Mono Lake at dusk.
The long exposure causes the stars to 'streak' slightly as they rotate around the North Star.  The two stars in-line on the right edge of the Dipper point to the North Star which is outside the photo.  The limestone Tufa structures in the foreground are lit from shore with flashlights.
